Er zijn vele, dunne, aan den voet liggende, doch naar boven, evenals de takken, opstijgende stengels, die kortbehaard zijn (soms geheel, soms ook 2-rijig behaard). De bladen zijn iets stijf, ovaal tot langwerpig, wigvormig in den korten steel versmald, stomp, ingesneden gekarteld (zij komen in vorm met een klein eikenblaadje overeen), van boven glanzend, eenigszins kort behaard, van onderen grijsschilferig. ^
