Spreading navarretia plant. Navarretia fossalis (spreading navarretia), a federally threatened plant, is photographed at Mesa de Burro on the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve in Riverside County, CA. The Reserve is part of the Santa Ana Mountain Range located in southern California. This plant primarily occurs with vernal pools and in temporary wetlands.
