The Sagewood is a beautiful water wise, frost hardy large shrub with cream to mauve flowers with a deep orange throat. Flowers grow in large terminal sprays (at the branch tips) from August to October. Shrubby from the ground up it works well as a screen and within a mixed shrubbery. Long, slender leaves are the most attractive of the 3 large shrub species, grey-green above, silver-grey below, and droop gently downwards. Pruning back after flowering encourages rapid growth and dense foliage.
