Native to the tropics of India and Polynesia, I am a slow-growing evergreen shrub with feathery leaves that droop from graceful narrow branches. I prefer a spot with bright and indirect light; well-draining soil is also a must (to prevent my sensitive roots from rotting). I enjoy humidity, which reminds me of the forest floors in my original home.
 
Yes, I certainly need more TLC but it is well worth the effort for my fluffy, pretty, green-and-cream foliage. I can also purify the air with my ability to remove some volatile compounds from your indoor environment. I'm sometimes grown as a bonsai and also popular as a gift for I symbolise peace, harmony and balance.
