Berkeley Sedge is a perennial grass-like sedge native to coastal California and British Columbia. It grows 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide, with fine-textured dark green arching foliage. Berkeley Sedge blooms in spring with inconspicuous flowers and seed heads. It spreads via rhizomes and makes a good ground cover tolerant of foot traffic and drought. Berkeley Sedge thrives in part shade and provides habitat for birds.
