This species is native to Southeast Asia and grows as a semi-terrestrial orchid in loose humus on the forest flower. This is a deciduous plant that produces growths in the spring that flower in late summer to early fall. The bright bubble gum pink flowers have 4 lobes and there can be 4 -12 flowers per flower spike. The flower spikes bloom for 6-8 weeks. Once the leaves start turning yellow to brown at the tips it will be time to cut back on water keeping the tubers just a little moist between watering with no fertilizer during the winter season. These plants are fairly easy to grow as long as you understand their requirements for the dormant period. New tubers can develop and in time you can divide these and pot them up separately.
