Common Name Leach's Eulophia [English Amatuer Botanist in Rhodesia and South Africa 1900's]

Found in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Natal and Transvaal South Africa among bushes under trees in hot dry areas at elevations of 375 to 750 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with cylindrical to conical, slightly subterraean pseudobulbs carrying several, plicate, leathery, rough margined leaves that are fully developed at blooming occuring in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, 5 to 20 flowered, racemose inflorescence.
