Distinguishing features

Native to West Africa this species has now been found in Queensland, stems rough, purplish, hairy; leaves opposite to sub-opposite to 13 x 8 cm, softly hairy below, 3-veined at base. Florets in a head about 1 x 0.5 cm, involucral bracts to 1 cm long, green. Seeds dark brown, with a pappus of 3 bristles to 2.5 mm long
