Help 14-year-old Daniellia recover from cancer

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I'm raising funds for a warm, brilliant young comedian in cancer treatment.

Daniellia is a bubbly 14-year-old who came from Jamaica with her family, Davina and Gabriel (sisters) and mom, Denneisha, to attend school in British Columbia. I was honoured to be a professor on Denneisha's committee for her Master's in Adult Education, and during that time learned more about her three remarkable daughters. In August, the family moved to Victoria for Denneisha to begin her Ph.D. in Education.

Denneisha and her daughters have overcome one barrier after another in hopes of a better life, but then came the shock of Daniellia's Osteoblastic Osteosarcoma (rare bone cancer) diagnosis in January of this year. Daniellia has undergone months of chemotherapy and major surgeries and is making excellent progress, but is still in active treatment and funds are needed to support her recovery.

For months Denneisha and Daniellia have been living in Vancouver at the Ronald McDonald House to be near the BC Children's Hospital. Denneisha is Daniellia's 24/7 caregiver and continues supporting teenage daughters Gabriel and Davina in every way possible to complete their studies in Victoria. As an international student from Jamaica, the family has exhausted all their savings and cannot access many resources available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, which is concerning as Daneillia will require follow-up care at BC Children's for years to come.
