Buy at your own risk. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. Thanks for seeing it! All of our plants have been grown with love and care. We strive to provide our local community with beautiful and healthy plants.
when your cuttings arrive, I recommend from my own experience to put the cuttings in soil for caci or succulents, and water enough to make it wet, water when the dry land is already seen because if you water a lot the cutting will rot due to excess water, after a week the plant should already have roots and it is advisable to place this pot in a place protected from the wind and direct sun, with constant warm temperatures.
At this stage we will only add water, without nutrients, since the salts of the fertilizer can damage the sensitive roots, after a month it is advisable to put it in the sun. It tolerates drought conditions, but the ideal to increase its horizontal development is to maintain constant watering, especially in the spring and summer months, when it develops the most and the first flowers appear.
Watering in spring and summer 2 to 3 waterings per week, as long as the soil is dry. Irrigation in autumn and winter,1 to 2 irrigations per week. Fertilize with compost 14-14-14
Climatology
This plant has its origin in southern Africa, so it is used to hot conditions. It adapts perfectly to the Mediterranean garden and even to coastal environments. It needs a lot of light to develop optimally, although it can live in semi-shady areas. For aptenia cordifolia, the more sun the better.
In cold conditions, we will see how the leaves lose their original greenness, growth stops completely and loses its original appearance. with flowering we will not have problems since full flowering occurs in summer. During winter, store it in a greenhouse when the weather is below 36 fahrenheit. With the necessary care, your plant will thank you and you will know how to reward it by making it beautiful for you.
