Aloe munchii

This is one of my favorite tree aloes, partly because, for some reason, it is way underused... it is an easy, relatively fast plant and has spectacular flowers, and a very reliable flowerer. It is a relatively skinny tree aloe, growing up to 15 feet, but I have never seen one over 6' (only seen 3 ever, 2 mine, and one a friend's). Blue green, bendable, almost rubbery leaves with relatively widely spaced, non-painful yellow teeth.. Rosettes rather upright in orientation but a bit floppy due to softness of leaves. Usually solitary, but sometimes branching near the base, and stems rarely have dead leaves left on them. Flowers on thick, multibranched inflorescence with nearly spherical racemes of bright orange flowers (with yellowy mouths as they open). Fruits are an odd pebbly consistency like a shark skin. Flowers are in winter. Plant is at least hardy to 26F, but not sure it is any more than that. Not a great plant for an open, super windy location, as gets rather top heavy and stems not too thick- can snap. Best to plant near structures. From Zimbabwe.
