Selaginella kraussiana is a small fern ally. Fern allys are very closely related to ferns but not quit ferns. Some common names are “Trailing Spikemoss” or “Spreading Clubmoss”. This African native is an excellent terrarium plant, use it as a groundcover or hanging off a piece of wood or rock. It likes a little extra humidity so in the house keep it in a cool garden room with other plants. It will also grow as a groundcover outside in mild winter areas.
