Description
An annual to 30 cm high or more recorded from the northern part of the Region from Mauritania to N Nigeria, and also in the Sahara and Sudan.The plant is grazed by all stock in Senegal and is especially relished by cattle (1). In S Africa it has been suspect of being poisonous to cattle, but cattle appear to take it freely with no ill effect (3). The seed is considered edible in Morocco (2).
