Rotala Blood Red (Original)

Rotala Blood Red (Original) is a variant of Rotala rotundifolia that gets a beautiful red coloration, wider and wavy leaves than for example HRA where Leaves are very skinny. It was originally introduced to the US market by hobbyists around four years ago. We’ve had a colony going since that time when a friend sent us a few stems to grow out.

You will find many vendors selling blood red that is not real blood red. The real original is hard to find and gets red much more easily than blood red gotten from vendors in the US. If you received blood red from another vendor and had trouble getting good coloration from it, it was probably not real blood red and was not your your fault.
