Gorizia Rosemary is also called BBQ skewers, and it's not hard to figure out why. This large upright Rosemary can reach heights of 4-5 feet and works as both an ornamental shrub and an edible herb. The long, straight, woody stems can be harvested and used as shish kebab skewers to impart the floral flavor of Rosemary to grilled foods. Rosemary is often grown for topiary designs, and Gorizia will not fail there. The larger-than-normal needles fill in any clipped topiary easily and quickly.
Gorizia Rosemary Care
Plant Rosemary in full sun in exceptionally well-draining soil. Rosemary will not survive winter in heavy soil that gets waterlogged. After planting, mulch plants with 2-3 inches of organic compost or arborist chips. This helps retain moisture and cool the root zone during the summer. Fertilizing is rarely needed for Rosemary shrubs. Pruning is also rarely needed. Cut back stems to the base when harvesting. This helps to keep the naturally tidy shape of Gorizia. When planting multiple Rosemary bushes in an informal hedge, space the plants at 24-30 inches apart on the center. This will help form a dense and seamless hedge.
Growing Gorizia Rosemary
Gorizia Rosemary is fully hardy in USDA zones 7-10. In these areas, it can be grown as a hedge or specimen shrub that will reach up to 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Rosemary can be grown in cooler zones as an annual or tender perennial. Growing it in a container will allow for overwintering in the house, so you can enjoy the pale blue flowers through the winter holidays. Applying extra mulch to the root zone in the fall may help Gorizia survive the winter on the outer edge of the hardiness zone.
Gorizia will need a container with excellent drainage and a soil-based potting mix for pot growing. Use a container at least 12 inches in diameter if growing this shrub singly. Gorizia also makes an excellent centerpiece for a year-round mixed planter since it is evergreen and bears flowers late in the winter. Fertilize with a diluted fish emulsion formula early in the spring and late in the summer. Over-fertilizing can result in Gorizia not hardening off for the winter season.
Watering Gorizia Rosemary
Water Rosemary sparingly after it is fully established. In its native Mediterranean climate, Rosemary is very drought tolerant and can survive months without supplemental watering. Give newly planted starts 1 inch of water per week divided into two sessions. This will encourage deeper growth of the roots and more drought tolerance for the plant.
Feeding Gorizia Rosemary
Rosemary does not require regular fertilizing to grow well. If the needles turn yellow, apply a granular, slow-release fertilizer in the spring around the root zone. A balanced ratio of NPK will support foliage, roots, and stems.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.
Winter to Early Spring
We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.
Summer
If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.
Fall into Winter
We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!
