Singer Thalía Congratulates Her Grandmother on her 100 Birthday! See the Sweet Instagram Post

Thalía’s grandmother Eva Mange turned 100 years old and the Mexican singer honored her with a sweet Instagram post. Tommy Mottola’s wife shared a tender photo of her maternal grandma lovingly staring at her son, Mateo, when he was a baby. “Happy birthday abuelita. Today it’s been 100 years since you first saw the light of day in the precious beaches of La Paz, Baja California. We love you so much grandma. Sabrina, Mateo, Tommy and I celebrate your life!” her caption says.

The post garnered over 80,000 likes and hundreds of comments in a few hours. “Wow, 100 years! May God continue to bless her and always care for her,” one user said. “What a blessing to have your grandma for so many years. From heaven, doña Yola [Yolanda Miranda] is also celebrating with so much joy,” another added, mentioning Mange’s daughter Yolanda Miranda, the singer’s beloved mother, who passed away in 2011 at age 76 from a heart attack.

Some of the singer’s followers on Instagram commented on her birthday post, urging her to visit Mange and congratulate her in person. “The best gift is your presence. Visit her,” one user said. “Hug your grandma Thalía,” another added. While her grandmother lives in Mexico, Thalía lives in the United States with her American music executive husband and their children Sabrina, 10, and Mateo, 6.

Mange’s other granddaughter and longtime caretaker — Mexican actress Laura Zapata, 61 — threw her a party at her home in Mexico City, where various media outlets covered the celebration. Thalía, who has a fraught relationship with her older sister, was sued by Mange, along with Thalía’s three other sisters (Ernestina, Gabriela and Federica Sodi), in 2012 for a sum of money left by Thalía’s mother after she passed away.
