Todea barbara

A magnificent, large, evergreen fern from the Southern Hemisphere, rarely seen in the UK. Rather beautifully and regularly divided upright, bipinnate fronds rise up to 1.2m from an ever more trunk-like rhizome, which can eventually become 90cm high in the wild state. 'Surprisingly hardy so far' according to Rickard, but best given a sheltered moist position.
