A species native to coastal tropical Africa known as the Bow-Shaped Raceme Cyrtorchis. Very similar to Angraecum but remains separate due to flower morphology. White flowers with long spurs are produced and have a sweet night fragrance. This orchid grows vertically and can get very tall like Angraecums.

Near blooming size plant. Unless stated, orchids will not arrive in spike or bloom.

CYRTORCHIS CARE INFO:

Potting mix: Coarse mix, baskets, or mounted with sphagnum. Repot every 1-2 years as the media breaks down. If mounted, they need daily watering in hot months.

Light: Medium-bright indirect light. Will thrive in any bright indirect window but prefers some shade in unobstructed South and West facing windows. Protect leaves from direct sun exposure especially if humidity is low.

Water: Water frequently in hot months when media has reached dry. These prefer a quick wet to dry cycle and roots will not tolerate staying wet for too long. From Fall-early Spring watering should be scaled back to accommodate the dry rest period. High humidity during the hot months will help prevent the media from drying out too quickly. Water at the base of the plant to prevent crown rot.

Temp: Cool-warm (50F min night, 90F max day).

Humidity: 40-70%, likes higher humidity in hot months with good air circulation and lower humidity in the cold months.

Fertilizing: Light feeding year round. 1/4 strength urea-free fertilizer, every other watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Run clean room temperature tap water through the pot once monthly to prevent salt buildup. Decrease fertilizing to every 3rd-4th watering or less if leaf burning is observed.
