Grief Letter for My Little Sister Denekia Angela Jackson-Phillps Once again, I find myself saying goodbye to a loved one. It’s a hurtful thing, but I still choose to trust in God and his will for me and my family. Denekia was born to my parents , Woodrow and Lorean Jackson August 14, 1986. She was the baby of the family, she and our oldest Sister Betty Jackson Bell shared the same birthday, being born twenty-five years apart. I will remember Denekia as a sweet, kind, caring person. She was there for our Mother when she fell ill, and in our Mother’s own words, she called her “My little personal nurse”. Even when Denekia was going through and was fighting Lupus in her own body, she was taking care of our late Mother Lorean, and she help care for our late sister Lawanda and her children also. Anyone who may have needed her she would help. Although I am heartbroken, I know God makes no mistakes. He knows all and sees all; beholding the good and the evil. He allowed Sherif to come into her life and he blessed them. She became a mother and a wife, which made her very happy. Christian her son was her world and Denekia was Christian’s world. So, I say to Sherif trust God for your comfort and strength. Teach Christian the wisdom, love of God, and all of God’s ways. Help him fine salvation and teach him to love and obey God’s words. Know that our family; his auntie’s, uncles and cousin will be there for him. God say the same. We should all draw closer to God and allow him to reign in our hearts. We do not know when our time is up and over in this world. We need to be ready to meet our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Love You Lisa R. Jackson Mays.
