Description

Huernia kirkii is a succulent perennial native to the northern parts of South Africa bordering Mozambique and Zimbabwe. It was discovered by Dr John Kirk who accompanied David Livingstone on his expedition in 1859. Stems are short,  decumbent or semi-erect.  Strongly toothed and 4-5 angled.  Between 2.5 cm and 5 cm in height, 1.5 cm in diameter.  Stems are green with mauve and grey markings.  Flowers are between 3-5cm in diameter cream coloured with mauve / deep purple markings.
