Stout, roughly hairy annual to 90 cm. Leaves obovate, half-clasping at the base, sometimes lobed. Flower heads discoid, in dense corymbs, yellow. Sept.--Apr. Roadsides and grassland, SW, LB, SE (Caledon to tropical Africa).
