Etymology of Mohria:
For Daniel Matthias Heinrich Mohr (1780–1808), German professor of zoology and botany, plant collector and author. In 1799, he studied zoology under Johann Christian Fabricius, and from 1801 botany under Heinrich Adolph Schrader (1767–1836) at the University of Göttingen. He became associate professor of philosophy at the Christian Albrecht University of Kiel in 1805 and two years later associate professor of zoology and botany. He had a special interest in cryptogams (non-flowering plants), algae and mosses and published a considerable amount including Contributions to Natural History (1805) with professor Friedrick Weber and Botanical Observations (1803). He died at an early age.
