Hemi-parasitic perennial to 25 cm. Leaves coarsely toothed below, spreading, longer than the flower buds. Flowers in spikes or racemes, yellow to orange, stamens unequal, filaments glabrous. Mainly Nov.--Apr. Damp flats and lower slopes, NW, SW, AP, KM, LB, SE (Gifberg to tropical Africa and Madagascar).
