Milicia Tedder, PhD, LPA, HSP-PA

Milicia Tedder, Ph.D., LPA, is a licensed psychological associate with over 10 years working with children, adolescents, women, and families. Dr. Tedder is a native of North Carolina and earned a master’s degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University and a doctoral degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee,Knoxville.

Dr. Tedder has experience working with individuals from a variety of ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, dealing with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma and abuse. She is committed to accompanying people through their transitions toward positive emotional and spiritual wellness. Dr. Tedder is a trained CBT and EMDR therapist who specializes in the areaof traumatic stress related to intimate partner violence, childhood abuse, and adult sexual assault. She weaves evidence-based interventions with traditional elements of compassion and understanding in an environment that fosters creative and personalized growth.

Dr. Tedder is involved in a number of community task forces that address issues that affect women and girls. Additional areas of interest include child and adolescent development, parenting tools, and multiculturalism. In her leisure time, Dr. Tedder enjoys time with her two daughters, dog-son Silas and extended family members. She also enjoys attending various cultural, visual art, and performing art events within the local area and beyond.
