Found in Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Cape and Natal states of South Africa in high rainfall woodlands at elevations of 1000 to 2100 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with a short, erect stem carrying 4 to 5, fan-shaped, linear, folded, slightly recurved leaves that blooms in the fall on a basally arising, erect to arching, 2 to 8" [5 to 20 cm] long, 12 to 20 flowered inflorescence
