Common Name or Meaning The Comb-Like Nervilia
Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]
Found in Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique in forests, eucalyptus plantations and in secondary grasslands at elevations of 1400 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a spherical to ellipsoid, tomentose tuber giving rise to a solitary, arising after the inflorescence has withered, horizontal but not prostrate, cordate, obscurely 7 angled, sparsely short white haired, dark green pale beneath to rarely dark purple leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, terete, to 5.2" [13 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 1 to 2, acute sheaths and a lanceolate, acute floral bract. .
