Description

The unusual form of the fruit makes this plant very noticeable. With maturity the fruit becomes brown.

Flowers

Flowers are white, small in flat umbels, with outer petals the largest.

Leaves

Pinnately lobed leaf with lobes both sides of a central midrib. Lobed leaflets on either side of the central midrib, stiff and hairy.

Fruits Seeds

Schizocarp: a cluster of round to elliptical, flat disks with a thickened, lobed margin; splits apart when ripe, 5-8 mm.
