Description
Moist, half-shady or shady conditions.
Flowers
The corolla tube arises just above the leaves. The pinkish-purple flowers emerge, 2-lipped in whorls along the corolla tube.
Leaves
Ovate leaf is egg-shaped, wider at base, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Egg-shaped to oblong, wider in the middle, pointed, serrated or not, 8 cm.
Fruits Seeds
Nut: dry, does not split open when ripe, many seeds.

Leaves.
Medical
Whole plant: used to heal wounds. As an infusion it was used to treat sore throats, thrush and gum infections; also for diarrhoea.
