Description

Polypodium cambricum grows in the cracks and crevices of damp, shady rocks (limestone or igneous).

Leaves

Pinnate row of leaflets on either side of the stem. Fronds, with 14 or more, narrow, oblong, serrated leaflets on either side of the stem, tapered.

Fruits Seeds

Sori: elliptical in shape, forming two rows on the underside of each leaflet.

Edible

Root: bittersweet in taste, traditionally being used in the manufacture of nougat.
