Description

Spurge Laurel is an evergreen shrub that grows on alkaline soils in damp forests.

All parts, including the seed are toxic by ingestion and contact with sap may irritate skin.

The yellowish-green tubular flowers are usually very fragrant.

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Elliptic oval leaf, Whorled cluster of leaves encircle the stem. Pointed to oval, wider in the middle, in spirals along the branches, alternate, glossy green.

Fruits Seeds

Drupe: oval in shape.

Medical

Leaves and bark: were once used to induce abortions by stimulating the blood flow to the pelvis and uterus.
