Crithmum maritimum

Crithmum maritimum or Rock samphire is an annual plant with branching stems and fleshy greyish coloured leaves. The leaves are edible and can be collected before flowering and pickled or eaten fresh. The white flowers are shaped in a dense umbel.

Crithmum always grows near the sea, in rocks, cliffs and sand and flowers from August to October.
