Beyond Blue Festuca provides year round foliage interest. This plant produces attractive fine blue foliage that will not brown out throughout the year. Beyond blue is excellent when used in a container or as a mass planting or border. When planting this grass, dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil, then leave the top of the root ball 1/2 inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. Use a slow release granular fertilizer in Spring.

To put the Festuca in a container I would suggest using at least a 5 gallon container.

This is a perfectly, perfectly-sized plant to buy on-line.  Mine arrived in perfect condition (make sure you take it out of the box it's in as well as the cellophane-type wrapping right away though and then I watered mine well, set it in a big plant saucer full of water, and put him in a semi-sunny place for a couple of days to cool him down).  I planted him today (in a pot) and we'll see how he does.  I'm pleased enough that I'm going to order two more.  If you order, hope your experience is as good as mine was.

Would Recommend and Will Buy Again

I was worried when I read reviews of this plant. The plant arrived in an appropriate box to protect it and the pot was encased in plastic which helped hold in moisture and keep the soil intact in the event the pot was crushed etc. The plant is healthy and will go into the ground tomorrow.

Walmart on line consistently sends healthy, beautiful, well-packaged plants.  I couldn't find Beyond Blue festuca locally, but Walmart had it online for a good price

2 plants arrived with dead spots the 3rd one was ok but after planting all plants they died within days of each other. So disappointed.

BEWARE- plants pictured online are not the ones you'll receive!  See pictures for yourself.  Also, plants just arrived moments ago and per Walmart order, today is the last day these are eligible for return!  Not worth $25 a piece so now they must be driven back to Walmart for a refund!
