Sweet Flag - Acorus americanus

Acorus americanus, also known as Sweet Flag, is a perennial wildflower native to Michigan bogs and water edges.  Resembling a cross between an iris and a cattail, it has spicy sweet-scented leaves.
Plant reaches 2 to 4 feet tall and flowers from late spring to early summer with a green blossom followed by dark berries.  Good for soil stabilization and rain gardens.
It prefers full sun but will do partial sun, with wet to moist soil and will grow in muck, clay or loam.  Plant 12" to 18" apart.  Will spread 2-3'.  Deer resistant.
