“Otari Cloud” is a bushy, NZ native shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. It features velvet covered, grey-blue leaves held densely on short branches that are also felted. The foliage is adorned with masses of showy, yellow flowers in spring. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and 1 m wide and responds well to trimming which encourages new growth. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of heavier soils, coastal environments, cool climates, and moderate frost. “Otari Cloud” is commonly used in native plantings, added to a mixed planting, or planted around the base of larger trees. It is also great for combining with other leaf colourings and textures, and is perfect for a Mediterranean themed gardens.
