Skyscraper Senecio is a surprising plant in many regards. Though it is a succulent, Skyscraper prefers some shade in the hot afternoons. Growing three to four feet in height and one to two feet wide, it needs no support for its heavy duty, fleshy stems, but leaves will break off if jostled. Hardy down to 25 degrees, Skyscraper may prefer to move indoors in the fall and winter. That said, we had one plant in a container planter sit out in a covered section of the nursery for two winters with no ill effects. Succulent aficionados may want to add this unusual specimen to their garden.
