This fast growing deciduous tree grows a very irregular crown and a twisted trunk making it a most interesting bonsai specimen plant as well as a garden standard in warm zones. The bar is smooth and grey-green accented by white flower puffs that bloom from June to August followed by red-brown seed pods that add interest through winter. Likes moist well drained soils. This fast grower can begin to be trained as Bonsai in the first year.
Treat as a tropical that cannot tolerate frost.
