Allium fistulosum

Perennial aromatic plant, resembling green onions with a red base, growing in stacks of 10-12 onions, which disappears with the first frosts to return in spring. We eat green onions whole in spring and small bulbs in summer until fall. Mild, slightly sweet flavor. They can be reproduced by tiller division or by seed. Also known as leek onion, stem onion or Spanish onion. 105-110 days.

Indoor sowing 8-10 weeks before the last frosts, at 3-5 mm deep, acclimatize, transplant in spring (2 to 4 weeks before the last frosts) in a sunny position, in rich and well-drained soil, spaced 10 -15 cm in rows spaced 30 cm apart.

Our seeds are reproducible. You can preserve them and share them around you.

Heirloom and open-pollinated varieties grown naturally in the garden.
