It is known as Goose-Grass. The drug has earlier been reported by A. L. Blackwood, W. Boericke, J. H. Clarke, and E. M. Hale. Mother tincture is prepared from fresh aerial parts of flowering specimens of Galium aparine Linn. It was again reproved vy Misha Norland and Peter Fraser, School of Homeopathy, England on 13 provers. A combined materia medica from this clinical verification and available literatures is given below.
Mind
The key sensation of the remedy seems to be one of being overwhelmed. The sensation of being overwhelmed was found clearly in the mental and emotional pictures, in dreams, particularly of overwhelming responsibility, and in the way that physical symptoms became cumulatively overwhelming. Sense of anxiety; particularly an anxiety that something was about to happen. Power of sexuality and love become overwhelming. Confusion and forgetfulness; confusion of size or direction and especially of distance. Restlessness and agitation. Symptoms and mood are often changeable, unstable or contradictory.
Head
Piercing pain; especially in the temple.
Eyes
Watering from the eyes. Swelling in the eyes. Pricking in the eyeballs and eyelids.
Ears
Sensation of pricking in ears, more in the right ear than left. Itching in the Eustachian tube.
Nose
Profuse thickened mucus, predominantly left nostril flowing on blowing. Increased sense of smell. Tickling in left nostril, leading to much sneezing. Right nostril blocked.
Face
Continuous and intense sensation of itching and tickling in the chin, cheek bones, especially left, and other parts of face. Sensation of numb. Itching accompanied by numbness, particularly in the face.
Mouth
Lips are dry. Bad, metallic and bitter taste in the mouth. Itching at the corner of the mouth. Tingling and numbness inside the cheeks. Toothache; piercing pain, painful to touch, worse hot drinks. It has clinical confirmation of use in cancerous ulcers and nodulated tumors of the tongue.
Throat
Constricted feeling of throat. Sore throat; sensation as if dry large lump in the center of throat, difficult to swallow. Sensation of piercing in the right tonsil. Burning in the back of the throat.
Stomach
Nausea on waking. Disturbances of appetite and often a feeling of fullness. No appetite. Pain in the stomach especially left side.
Abdomen
Congested and bloated feeling of abdomen. Restricted feeling around the waist. Shooting and pricking pain in the naval. Cutting and piercing pain in the abdomen, especially left side.
Rectum
Pricking pain in the anus. Flatus; smells like cabbage.
Urine
Galium acts on the urinary organs, is a diuretic and of use in dropsies, gravel and calculi. Dysuria and cystitis.
Female
This drug increases the libido. Tingling sensation around the vagina. Eruption on the parts. Piercing pain through vagina. Sharp and contracting pain in the breast. Itching and prickling at the end of the nipples.
Extremities
Tingling and numbness in the arms, hands and fingers. Pricking sensation all over limbs. Stiffness, pain and swelling of knee. Sensation of tearing under the knee. Sciatica.
Dreams
Pricking similar to insect bites and bees and wasps are found in the dreams.
Skin
Itching all over the body, particularly head, upper right arm, stomach and legs. Itching accompanied by numbness. Eruptions tend to be herpetic. Inveterate skin affections and scurvy. Favors healthy granulations on ulcerated surfaces. It has use in psoriasis.
Generalities
Lethargy and tiredness. Pricking; ranging from itchiness through pinpricks to sharp needle like pains. Disturbed balance..
