Description

A short, clustered rhizome makes stems of 70-90 cm which are thickly clothed in soft, ribbed, downy leaves below a densely packed, 15 cm spike of foamy, white flowers with a lovely, light fragrance. In time this forms clumps, without being invasive, and the massed effect is lovely.

An excellent highlight plant for lightly shaded areas and will also form a well-mannered background for medium-sized woodland plants.

Fully hardy (to USDA Zone 4) and easily grown in almost any reasonable soil, sun or light shade. Western USA.
