Description
Like the related Allium triquetrum this has both leaves and stems which are triangular in cross section but pendulinum is smaller in all of its dimensions hence it is dwarfer in stature. In addition the shape of the flowers is very different, these being far more widely opened rather than tightly bell-shaped. Normal flowering-sized bulbs are small.
This species is very, very rare in cultivation. Hailing from Southern Italy it is possibly not for cold areas having said which it seems perfectly happy here, so far, in a sunny, well-drained, south-facing raised bed.
