A pretty, deciduous shrub, rarely reaching 3 m in height, native to eastern Asia, from eastern Siberia to China, Korea and Japan to 1500 m elevation. It has pinnate, deep green leaves and showy, terminal clusters of delicate white flowers. Sorbaria sorbifolia is an attractive, fast growing ornamental for many temperate and some warm-temperate climates in USDA Zones 2 to 8. It is also an excellent plant for erosion control.
