QualiREG's network Agro-Food Meetings in the Indian Ocean 2017 From November 20 to 24, QualiREG network is organizing the 6th edition of the Agro-Food Meetings in the Indian Ocean on the theme "Innovation for quality and development of the agro-food sector in the Indian Ocean".
First scientific days around Near Infrared Spectrometry in the Indian Ocean On October 17 2017, nearly 120 people gathered at the University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Saint Pierre to participate in the first scientific days of SPIRAL association, the scientific network in Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) in the Indian Ocean.
Professor-researcher at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Comoros, Chakira will work for 3 months (from October to December 2017) on the analysis of samples of essential oils of Ylang-Ylang and on the development of a method of rapid detection of fraud through the NIRS tool.
Training beekeepers to assess the quality of their honey through sensory analysis From September 26 to 28 2017, nine honey producers from Rodrigues attended a training course in sensory analysis of beehive products at CIRAD in Saint Pierre in Qualisud unit. For three days, they worked on the characterization of the different types of honey, propolis and pollen and on the adulteration of honey under the supervision of Mrs. Sophie Assemat of CIRAD in Reunion - UMR QualiSud.
