Willow-Leaved Dock

Upright to prostrate, willowy-looking. Stems branch from base into many side branches that flower later than the central one. Leaves on stems dense near bottom, linear or lance-shaped, edges flat rather than wavy or curly, bright green. Flowers held at top in short, thin to congested, branched spikes, pale green turning brownish. Grows in lake edges, marshes, vernal streambeds, moist soils, from coastline to high elevations.
