Pseudosasa japonica is good as a solitary in the ground and in the tub. The rhizomes of this bamboo remain relatively short and the plant will not produce far-reaching shoots.
The relatively thin stems are olive green in color will grow in large numbers and a dense forest of bamboo is the result. The bracts stay in place for a long time. Thinning a little every year can not hurt, but is not necessarily necessary.
