Found in Malawi, Tanzania, Zaire, Zambia and Zimbabwe in open woodlands with high rainfall and a long dry season at elevations of 600 to 700 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyute or occasional lithophyte with a short stem carrying, 3 to 7, disitchous, linear, folded, recurved, thick, yellowish green leaves held in a fan that blooms in the fall on an axillary, from lower leaf axils, erecet to downward, 5 to 6" [12.5 to 15 cm] long, 4 to 5 flowered inflorescence with the terminal, fleshy, non-resupinate flower opening first
