Found in Transvaal South Africa around the edges of flat rock flushes in mossbeds at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 4+ radical leaves and a few cauline leaves above that blooms in the later spring and early summer on an erect then nodding, reddish, secund, lax, 6 to 25 flowered inflorescence and carrys sweet scented flowers
