Found in Guinea, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, Burundi, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gulf of Guinea Islands, Rwanda, Zaire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Madagascar in warm brachystegia forests and submontane evergreen forests at elevations of 850 to 2100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with 1.2" [3 cm] between each, reddish to yellowish, wrinkled, conical-ovoid, slightly flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, leathery, narrowly oblong to oblanceolate, obtuse, shortly petiolate leaves that blooms in the winter through summer on a basal, arching to pendulous, 3.2 to 10 " [8 to 25 cm] long, slender, many flowered inflorescence
