Matteuccia struthiopteris / Ostrich Fern

Matteuccia aka Ostrich Fern is named for its tall feathery fronds. As with all ferns, it likes to be out of full sun and prefers moist woodland settings. Full shade tolerant. Matteuccia grows tall - it can reach from 3 to 6 feet. In the spring they sprout edible fiddleheads.
