 Recognition
  • a perennial aquatic grass that is loosely tufted and flaccid and has creeping stems.
  • its leaves are up to 17 cm long, flat and scabrid on leaf ribs.
  • its inflorescence is upright from a bent, prostrate base and the flowering head narrow and with few spikelets.
  • its seeds are 2-2.5 mm long.
