 Recognition
  • a large, robust sedge forming dense clumps up to 90 cm high with drooping stems.
  • its leaves are blue-green, broad (3-5 mm wide), harshly scabrid, and Y-shaped,
  • its inflorescence a drooping panicle, with long-stalked pendant spikes.
  • its fruits are about 6 mm long, with a 2 mm long beak.
